Neighbourhood Wardens

If you live in Beswick, Clayton, Openshaw, Gorton and West Gorton, the Neighbourhood Wardens will:

 

  • Patrol the streets reporting any criminal, anti-social and environmental problems
  • Work with the police and other agencies to agree strategies to combat crime and anti-social behaviour
  • Remove any discarded needles and syringes from public areas
  • Work with schools and young people’s projects
  • Check alley gated areas once a fortnight
  • Offer crime prevention support to local businesses
  • Respond to reports with a mobile patrol
  • Carry out follow up visits
  • Visit vulnerable residents and victims of crime to give advice and reassurance
  • Visit your home and security mark your valuables
  • Supply safety equipment to people who qualify
  • Issue fixed penalty notices to anyone caught dropping litter or allowing their dog to foul in a public area
