If you live in Beswick, Clayton, Openshaw, Gorton and West Gorton, the Neighbourhood Wardens will:
- Patrol the streets reporting any criminal, anti-social and environmental problems
- Work with the police and other agencies to agree strategies to combat crime and anti-social behaviour
- Remove any discarded needles and syringes from public areas
- Work with schools and young people’s projects
- Check alley gated areas once a fortnight
- Offer crime prevention support to local businesses
- Respond to reports with a mobile patrol
- Carry out follow up visits
- Visit vulnerable residents and victims of crime to give advice and reassurance
- Visit your home and security mark your valuables
- Supply safety equipment to people who qualify
- Issue fixed penalty notices to anyone caught dropping litter or allowing their dog to foul in a public area
